Reflexology is a holistic treatment based on the principle that there are areas and points on the feet that map via the nervous system to corresponding parts of the body. When pressure is applied to these areas and points it stimulates the movement of energy along the nerve channels, and helps to restore homeostasis (balance) in the whole body.
This qualification in Reflexology is a substantial vocational qualification that will prepare you for a career as a Reflexologist. It is designed for learners aged 16 years or over and will support you to gain employment as a Reflexologist.
This course will cover the following:
Knowledge and understanding of the principles and practice of Reflexology.
Anatomy, physiology and pathology for complimentary therapies.
Practical skills to competently provide reflexology treatments including those for relaxation and self-healing.
Health, safety and client care.
Interpersonal skills that will assist you to communicate effectively with clients.
For the knowledge and understanding of this course. In most cases this can be done by professional discussion and/or oral questioning. Other methods, such as projects, assignments and/or reflective accounts may also be used. In total, there will be two external papers.
For the assessment of practical skills, you must carry out and document evidence for at least a hundred treatments, which must be carried out on a minimum of four clients. There must be a minimum of six treatments for at least two clients. These are also known as case studies.

Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 2 in Beauty/Complimentary Therapies and/or a successful skill test and interview.
This qualification will support you to gain employment as a Reflexologist or providing Reflexology treatments alongside your current role. You will be eligible to join a professional association and gain insurance as a reflexologist.
You could work in Clinics, Spas, Salons, NHS Hospitals, Care homes, Mobile
(HABIA – Industry standard setting body advise Level 3 as the minimum level for qualified entry into employment).
